Just like a post office!
I'm usually the one at the Post Office that is behind someone with a huge amount of parcels, or a huge amount of coin bags that have to be weighed and counted!! Same thing today at the car wash, pulled in just after a big white van was about to start!
Didn't start off too well apart from the fact that my trips to the bathroom started to get less frequent during the morning. I haven't driven the MX-5 for about a fortnight so thought my trip the TESCO was worth a little spin in it. The battery thought otherwise and it struggled to turn the engine over.
Luckily, I have a little device that has got me over the same problem with motorbikes and a couple of times with the old little Suzuki Alto that we used to have. I've never tried it on anything as big as my 2.0 litre MX-5 Sport.
It did the job first time, then the engine cut out and I thought "It's not going to manage a second go", but it did and I left it running for a minute before setting off (see extra, there's a lot of power in that little box). It comes with leads to charge USB devices of different types and a flashlight is also incorporated.
The white van man was about 10 minutes, then I spent 7 minutes on my little car and sped down the outer ring road to blow the water off. I'd left the engine running all that time to give the chance for the alternator to charge the battery up.
As I expected, the car was fine after I did the small amount of shopping that I went to get so all is well with the world.
