Staithes
Stephen’s last day at home before returning to London. Glad we decided on a trip to the coast. The Moors were shrouded in mist as we drove past the Hole of Horcum. However the coast was clear and once we had located a parking space in the busy car park we wandered down into the village.
Staithes is a wonderful old fishing village with narrow passages and steps up and down the valley sides. Many of the cottages are now given over to holiday accommodation. It was good to see families building sandcastles and dogs swimming out to retrieve balls.
As we drove back over the Moors we were treated to a stunning sunset.A fitting end to Stephen’s Christmas break.
