Blackheath Oval

Blackheath Oval is an interesting place. It was here that Don Bradman made a century in three overs, once (see extra). It is listed as an official "safer place" where residents surrounded by flames might gather as a last place of refuge.

Right now it looks especially sad. There hasn't been rain or any kind of watering here in a long time now and the grass (yes that brown stuff IS grass) is dying fast. It wasn't nearly as hot today as forecast and so Norma and I walked down here for some exercise.
