Sunrise
It required some determination to get myself out of bed this morning in time for an 8am class in the middle of the lost week, but it was worth it as I drove down Los Alamos and caught this shot of the fog creeping down the valley at the foot of Annadel State Park. In contrast to yesterday's rain and gloom, this morning dawned bright and sunny...until I got into town which lay under a thick blanket of fog.
Our class this morning, usually around six people had fourteen. At first I thought that everyone was just struggling to figure out what day it is, but it turns out that the big studio in town closed last week, and a lot of people were trying out other options. It was quite a scene. The possibility of a bigger space was hinted at by the teacher.
There were ten of us at Trail House for coffee after class, seven of us from the class joined by John and Ann and Harold. The star of the show was Sadie, Larry's dog. Larry has been talking about Sadie ever since he got her from a rescue group a couple of months ago. I've put a picture of her with John in extras. It was going to be my answer to the MonoMonday challenge of 'Low Key Portrait', but it is pretty difficult to get a low key setting that works either in our house or the Trail House.
We took advantage of the sunshine to have lunch and a glass of wine at VJB. It was quite warm sitting outside in the sunshine but felt 10º cooler in the shade so we didn't linger. The only dinner reservation we cold get was tonight at 5 at Bird in the Bottle. We're still feeling pretty full from lunch, so maybe we'll just call it happy hour...
