The sunset of 2019

We had a glorious end to 2019. Katie spent the morning on a brilliant music lesson, showing B how very hard she's worked despite it being the Christmas holidays. She did some absolutely fabulous sightreading and has begun some G8 scale work. Which she did a great job of.

We came home and had a wonderful time of our Christmas lego Central Perk set. We are very nearly finished! Lunch was a little later than planned so Granny and Grandad had arrived by the time that we finished.

We had a fabulous last adventure of the year, heading off to Spurn Point. We hadn't intended to watch the sunset, but we were blessed with a glorious one - reaching it's climax as we approached the lighthouse. It was though becoming twilight very quickly, so we turned back instead of heading to the world war two defence site and the lifeboat station. Katie had a fabulous time splashing in the sea in the near-dark, tea & biscuits by torchlight and then a pitch dark walk back to the car.  A wonderful adventure.

We then attempted to have a bite to eat out but it was far too busy so we made ourselves the final customers of our local fish and chip shop to take home! After saying goodbye to G&G, we had a fun couple of hours at friends - though we left before actual midnight. We marked that snuggling in Katie's bed, her fast asleep in my arms. Much as we did this time at the end of the last decade.

I've found the 10year ago flood on my social media feed a bit challenging. Our "this time 10 years ago" was extremely difficult, and the precursor to the hardest times of our lives. Yet 10 years on, its incredible where we find ourselves. In some ways, I find it hard to imagine 2020 living up to all she did and achieved in 2019 - and yet, somehow, I just know she will make sure it does. And as for where we will be in the next decade... that blows my head entirely!
