A new decade
The first day of a new decade! We were up at the usual 7am as Merlin was awake and ready for action! We welcomed in the first day of the new year with a leisurely breakfast and a dog walk. It felt strangely and very lovely that it was quiet without any noise of traffic around.
We didn't quite manage to finish the jig saw last night so after the walk we sat down with a cup of tea and cake completed the final little bits. We managed to successfully identify most of the butterflies in the image but some are only found on mainland Europe so we didn't know those ones.
After lunch I went to the allotment for an hour or so and laid down some cardboard and covered it with horse manure - an attempt to begin to suppress some of the nettles on my new plot.
Hoping your new year has got off to a good start.
