Then There’s Frank

As New Year’s Eve has its traditions, so does New Year’s Day. Today we gathered as a family once again. This time at our home where we dined on a traditional German meal of pork, sauerkraut and spätzle. My youngest has taken it upon herself to keep this yearly event alive. I love that she values the culture from which she came. My mother, before she passed, took great pains to teach her the recipes and techniques that were handed down to her. It is truly a cherished meal for me.

Then again there’s Frank who was still resting from last night’s festivities as noon approached.
