New Years Day , sunrise

I was up later than usual and think I missed the best of the sky but it was still a wonderful orange.Mike was up as we had planned to go to the Point to see the sunrise on the first day of the new decade. ( not sure when the start of a new decade became such a big ‘thing‘) .
The sky was still looking good.It was cold and breezy but we walked along the beach to the other side of the lighthouse to watch the sun rise above the hills and mountains.Just a few other people there quietly watching too.
The sky turned to shades of pink above our house and eventually the sun was too bright to look at so we headed back to the car and off to Dingwall to pick up David.
As we walked back to the car and saw the sun peeping behind the lighthouse and I liked the shapes of the silhouettes.
We were hoping that Tesco would be open as we needed a few bits and Mike was hungry and wanted something to eat before we went for a walk but it was closed so we went home instead intending to go for a walk later.
The wind picked up a lot and the sun disappeared so we did not go out in the end. David and Mike watched something in the other room while I watched ‘Goodbye Mr Chips’ the version with Martin Clunes. Such a good story but sad too so a few tears shed.
We had a tasty roast chicken for dinner.
David was off to a party in the evening. Mike and myself watched A Quiet Place, another good film that had we hiding behind my blanket.
Mike picked David up at 11 o’clock. He had a good time catching up with his mates from his Academy days :)
