Best of friends

Arrived in Wanaka this morning watching the world turn bright as the mist peeled itself off the mountains. I was also given a clue that it would be a nice day by the guy sitting next to me on the bus. He goes around the world picking cherries and informed me that the helicopters overhead were drying the cherries on the trees to harden the skins before picking, so as to prevent splitting. Obviously they don’t bother doing this if there is to be more rain. I asked if he got sick of cherries but no, other fruit, yes, and that’s why he chases the cherry season around the globe. One way to spend your days for sure.
So, another beautiful lake backed by more beautiful mountains, the scenery I get to look at each day is truly majestic. Hostel is great, kitchen is really clean and I am here for a week so got to do a weekly shop and buy sensible food which has made me very happy, been a long time.
