Swan Lake or Risking Life and Limb for Art's Sake

This young swan is one of three who are residents of our community. Though the adult male approached quite menacingly to make sure I kept a respectable distance, I knew I wouldn't have time to set up my tripod before the rains came. So, with my camera set to fire a burst of three quick shots bracketing the auto exposure setting, I got as close as I dared and crossed my fingers.

Click, click, click.

Thanks to that bit of foresight I got the shot I wanted and made it back to the car before Father decided to follow through with his threat and just as the downpour started. Yeah, life is good.
