Cattle and starlings
Decided on only walking this morning rather than mixing in runs every so often. Even so, I wasn't ready with the camera when a pair of Yellowhammers moved to a small tree, before abruptly speeding across the road in front of me, and thence away up a hill.
Took photos of flowers, and was still feeling slightly disgruntled (certainly nowhere close to feeling gruntled) by the end. Just as I got back to the house we are renting, I saw that there were a lot of starlings in the field with the cows, behind the house. They moved around almost as if governed by one mind.
We have had a quiet and relatively restful day, bringing bread and cheese and eggs etc to the house where we each made a sandwich or two. Then an afternoon trip to the wharf area, and ordered pizzas for what turned out to be a sunny evening at the house.
