Gulls in Winter Light
B and I went for an impromptu walk from Morston Quay to Blakeney this afternoon. There were still quite a lot of visitors along the footpath, I suspect it will be much quieter next week when folk have returned to work.
We enjoyed the sight of a flock of Brent geese feeding on one of the fields next to the coast path, as well as what we think was a Marsh Harrier circling around. It was lovely to hear curlew and oystercatchers calling too.
I captured these black-headed gulls in their winter plumage in Blakeney Harbour. For some reason there were a number of them flying around together and calling. They looked lovely in the light of the setting sun.
We enjoyed a coffee in the Blakeney hotel before the walk back.
