Drowned in nectar

I noticed this poor hoverfly who had gone to meet it's maker, drowned in nectar, in this native waterlily.  I rather like them.  Not as showy as the non natives but I like their colour and they stand a bit taller out of the water.

A somewhat cooler day today and even a tiny bit of rain overnight.  I have put in an order upstairs for some more.
