Cardio Department
Well, here we are...sitting in the (mercifully quiet) Cardio Department for Mum's annual echocardiogram. It was a long appointment today, which I do hope doesn't mean dodgy news?
Apparently, a car had broken down in the hospital car park, causing total mayhem and plenty of missed appointments, but we were lucky enough to get a lift in the Keble Court car, so simply got dropped off at the main entrance and collected after the appointment. It was a great system, and helped Mum tremendously as it meant she had a shorter distance to walk - which was a relief since the Cardio department appears to be furthest from the hospital entrance, so perhaps they try to test their patients on the way in? Mind you, one downside of the day was that the girlie operating the ECG monitoring contraption was unwell with this dreaded cold/cough/throat lurgy that's doing the rounds here...so I just hope Mum can avoid catching her germs! She's only just getting over her own version of the illness which laid her low all over Christmas.
Thankfully, the Keble Court café was still open by the time we got back, so we tucked into soup & portion of baguette followed by a coffee.
The second pic is Mum trying out her new Cubii..."Use it or lose it" is her motto.
I left her this evening getting ready to go and play Whist...
Thought for the day:
"The woman who has a gift for old age is the woman who delights in comfort. If warmth is known as the blessing it is, if your bed, your bath, best-liked food and drink are regarded as fresh delights, then you know how to thrive when old." (Writer Florida Scott -Maxwell)
