Cleaning the bowl!
I went outside about half an hour ago to see if there were any wallabies eating from the bowl. For the past three days I’ve been putting the kangaroo pellets out for them. I had to smile when I saw this little character cleaning up the last morsel. They must be SO hungry. There is no food or water for them at the moment other than what people are providing. Just before I started to post my blip I looked out and there were three wallabies all at different stations. One was drinking and the other two were at the bowls with the pellets in them. I’ll have to go down and replenish them before I go to bed.
Yesterday afternoon I went for a walk out to Wombat Rock with two of my close friends. We were absolutely shocked at what we saw. If I didn’t know any better I would have thought that the firies had been in and done a back burn at Wombat Hollow. It was very distressing to see so much of the bush literally dying in front of our eyes. The interesting thing is that around the house the banksias and hakea bushes are still quite green. I just don’t understand what’s happening here. It’s very strange indeed. There is no doubt about it though, the best thing for the bush on the property would be a controlled burn by the firies over winter, there is just SO much fuel on the ground.
