Notes: Left K&C's house with Kathryn around 6a. Jumped an earlier flight, saw a magnificent sunrise while sitting at my gate. Flight 1/2 full and should've gotten in a lot earlier than we did. Quick off, found bus and barely made it to Santa Fe Depot in downtown San Diego before Amtrak pulled away - day seemed like it had last for weeks already. Got off in Oceanside, called an Uber. Contractor was working at the house - quite a mess, cold, smelly from toxic glue, loud from intermittent sawing of wood pieces for the floor, kitchen still torn up and unusable. I went straight to the neighbor's and had Susan come look. Knew there was no way I could survive even for that afternoon. Talked to Steve many times in the day and called home to see about using some point for a hotel. Hadn't eaten and finally packed, got some food and went to nearby hotel where I had to wait to check in. Exhaustion and weariness had taken over, and complete survival mode again. Had to go back to house later for few more things (waited until contractor should be gone), took out the 3 bins in the rain and grabbed a few more things. So many things of beauty and new experiences but could not appreciate them at all.
