Lorna's plaits

This picture was almost certainly taken on the same day as the one in the Sheffield garden that we posted yesterday (Lorna with the dog). This shot gives a better opportunity to admire Lorna's lovely long plaits and ribbons.

According to the label on the photograph, the young woman seated in the deckchair next to Lorna is called Joyce, one of Lorna's school friends. Perhaps Joyce is one of Pip, Muff or Binkie to whom Lorna referred in her preface to Told round the fire? Wouldn't it be amazing if a blipper recognised Joyce as his/her great grandmother?
