Kabaddi!
What joy to chance upon a school "Sports Day" where they were playing kabaddi! An advanced form of "it", kabaddi is apparently Nepal's national sport. I have loved it since Channel 4 showed it for a little while in the 80's, it obviously didn't catch on in the UK, but it is still going strong here and the kids love it! What fun. It was also nice to be welcomed so warmly and not feel self concious and worried about taking pics of kids having fun. Pure joy.
Today was a "rest" day so we went for a walk and took in the serene countryside and chatted to the locals. There are lots of mud houses and they are very beautiful. We also went to the elephant breeding place where we saw very cute baby elephants.
Fact of the day: An elephants trunk has 40,000 muscles in it!
