Birthday... take 1

Today did not turn out the way we planned... what we thought was overexcitement (up 7 times through the night) turned into a full sickness bug.

Poor L, we have never seen her quite so upset: at the realisation that we weren’t going for our outing and then later on that her cousins and her family were not coming round to share her amazing cake with her. She was heartbroken.

In the moments where she felt brighter we gave her our birthday presents and we opened a few cards. We’re saving the rest until her actual birthday on Tuesday.

She had a nap this afternoon on the sofa with me and has felt a little better since then. I really do hope it has gone now.
