Under A Fallen Bough

A trickle of water flowing out to the inlet under a fallen tree with fresh snow from the weekend storm simplifying the chaotic scene in the woods. Still looks a pretty complex image, but the white snow unifies the scene. The tree and water are contrasting dark elements arranged in a 'T' formation giving some structure.

As with my previous attempts at snow scenes, I struggle to decide on the correct white balance and to get enough texture in the highlights. I feel snow should look cold and so I tend towards blue, but then snow is generally white.
