Heritage piece on shore path.

One of a few pieces public art celebrating local heritage and industrial past. The piece recognises sailing, fishing (including whaling), mining & manufacturing, and the weather. The original regeneration plans for the harbour and foreshore, where we walked this afternoon, were shelved because of the economic downturn in 2009 and beyond. The area’s industrial past means that it is expensive to regenerate the area.
