We changed our route.

The river is up and the way ahead flooded; the black line in the water is the river’s edge/walkway. The car park and other parts of the flood plain were underwater, so we walked elsewhere. We know the area well, so that was fine. Hard to believe 1/2 an hour earlier it was pouring down and the school children were getting soaked!
