Final Approach

'Target in my sights sir!'

'It takes more than just fancy flying!' I muttered swirling on my heel in the mud.

I never usually take my phone out birding however today as ever recently with all the shenanigans with my parents I feel I am on call. Standing on the hill in the cold on a quite bleak afternoon my phone suddenly went into apoplexy. A slight crisis at home with Mum's medication which the 'Carer' had spotted. Owls had been starting to appear on the horizon for a while but as we delved deeper into the pill melee  3 owls came down into my spot so trying to talk and hit the shutter button at the same time proved taxing. Having explained at length I had no diary with me, I was in the middle of a field and had no ways and means of doing ANYthing at all  I did have the reassurance that she would ring me back  (Nooooo could I not ring her in an hour?!!) and tell me the next saga of events which she (the Carer) was sorting and all respect to her she did. Yes I did feel selfish and she really was a star and I was very very grateful.

The phone rang again, 'I hear you've been involved in an accident ... la la..' Was I a tad curt some may say rude even but I'm sick of cold callers and need to block them yet again. I've lost count of the amount of calls like that I've had recently.

Another call informing me our loft insulation might be dodgy ...well......

Ringing home again as soon as I arrived home proved all was ok thankfully but Mum is missing Dad who is supposed to be going to rehab but that is on lock down with bugs and germs so they can't get him in.
