Mulhams Birthday

The party continues but I will take a short break to blip!

This cake is for Mulham who lives on the first floor. He walked from Syria to Germany (also via container ship). Though many people were friendly and offered help and shelter, they had to avoid detection until reaching Germany where they would have the chance to build a new life. Everyone walking this route would be carrying all their wealth, which makes them vulnerable to bandits who may pounce. Walking together in packs was better. Since Angela Merkels refugee policy of ~2015, Germany has accepted a lot of Flüchtlingen (refugees), which is fantastic and very honourable. It’s very important to remember that these people are just as we would be if we were suddenly displaced and under threat. There are many Syrians at the party tonight, all have crazy stories.
