Blue sky and Oleanders

You can depend on the oleanders to keep flowering during the hottest of hot weather.  

Thankfully we will get about a week of cooler conditions: it's not going to go above 31 for the next week, and the nights will remain cool.  We might even get a drizzle of rain if we are lucky.

We were really excited this morning.  There's a couple of azalea bushes we planted a few weeks ago that look completely dead after the heat wave, and Mary wanted to pull them out.  But we looked closely and lo and behold they are regrowing.  Tiny little leaf buds are popping out.  So, if it stays cool for a while, they will be ok.

Gotta be happy about that.
