What a day!

Every year, each ward within the hospital is accredited, we knew we were due any time but we had already planned that today would be a major office move!
So I’m sure you can guess what happened! The porters has arrived and were moving filing cabinets and desks leaving behind a trail of dust and detritus, when who should turn up at reception.......a band of senior nurses ready to inspect the ward and accredit us!
They graciously accepted that we would not be at our best considering the move that was going on and we seemed to come out of it quite well, quite a few small things that need looking at but in general it felt quite good. Time will tell as the decision now has to come from ‘the board’. In the past we had achieved diamond - no mean feat- but following the merge with the local children’s hospital the things that are assessed have changed (some good, some (more)bad) and last year we were awarded silver so it would be nice to demonstrate that this year we’ve jumped through enough hoops to achieve gold. But we’ll see.....

Has earned this by the time I got home!
