An Old Airman's Life

We made it to New Orleans okay.

On our way down, we stopped at the National Hansen's Disease Museum in Carville, LA. They had housed many leprosy patients there for over a hundred years. The facility was pretty. It is now a military base so no pictures are allowed. It is also far from any outside influence. The patients were warned that guards were posted to keep the patients inside. Some of the other rules that I found interesting were that no lamps or candles were allowed in their rooms. Any light had to come from outside in the hall.

Went out for drinks at The Avenue Pub. A lot of young folks out drinking craft beer. We very much enjoyed the evening.
