Sophie Tackles The Tor

Kate & Sophie had a sleepover last night as Sophie had a 9 o'clock rehearsal for the show her dance group are putting on next month.

Once she got back we decided to go for a walk up Glastonbury Tor. It's the first time Sophie has been up there and she really enjoyed the views and counting the steps up (290, I think). The extra shows her nearly at the top.

The main blip was taken when we got back down to the bottom, where there's a temple called The White Spring, the source of a natural spring which is flowing freely after all the recent rain. As you can see the spring has been channelled through man made fountains.

The temple and spring are regarded as sacred and spiritual places and the cavern itself is illuminated by candles, making it very atmospheric, but visitors are requested not to take photos inside. Just as at the top of the Tor, people often gather here to make music and celebrate the spring but no signs of life today.
