Sitting
Another frosty and sunny morning, perfect to lift the spirits and for walking Merlin. It was so beautiful out that I didn't want to come home, so we sat for a while and took in the cool air and the peace. A kestrel hovered overhead and a beautiful red fox ran across the field. Merlin was very interested!
This little engraving is on the sculpture we sat on. The sculpture is of the village church and has seats incorporated into it. On various parts of the sculpture are engravings of things which have local significance. We have quite a number of streams and ponds in the village so we often see dragon flies and damsel flies in the summer months.
It has been another day when Merlin and I have had plenty of time together. Andy has been fixing a gate post at the house at Liss. He had a false start as his car had a flat battery but that was, thankfully, soon resolved. So, Merlin and I have had also had a walk to the allotment. He is getting better at sitting and waiting whilst I do what I need to do. We've also had a lovely walk over the fields at dusk. I've been practicing getting him to walk by my side as he has a tendency to walk ahead. He did very well. We've also been practicing his recall to a whistle - it seems to work better than just calling him.
Now it is time for a stew and to sit down in front of the fire. I hope your day has been a happy one.
