Aunty Nina
Unbelievably its 4yrs today since my dad died. I can’t believe it’s that long ago, but I can still hear his voice, and feel his presence, especially at home. Mum and dad would play scrabble every morning after breakfast, mum believing that an active brain was really important. She rarely won but it was always close.
Mum and I both had a little cry and the family all posted support and good memories of dad.
We also visited Aunt Nina, mum’s best friend since they were 5yrs old. Sadly she has dementia and is in a home but us always pleased to see us and has a twinkle in her eye. She also is a widow and they always said when the grumpy old men were gone they’d be off travelling the world together. A tough day for mum but as always she kept smiling and being positive.
