Ghosts of Christmas Past
I am really tired today because I decided to cut a fringe late last night when I was bored and couldn't sleep. I've had a good reaction but I rarely change my hair and it took the morning to get used to it. I also recruited my downstairs flatmate who is pretty good with hair to fix the edges.
My colleague Anja kindly reminded me that today was "Blue Monday", the most depressing day of the year. Thanks for that!
Aptly, here is a picture of the post-christmas felled Tannenbaum. In the background waving at us is Bavaria, personified in bronze female form. This is Theresienwiese, the site of the Wies'n (meadow) or Oktoberfest to most. At Christmas time this is half filled with the Weihnachtsmarkt Tollwood (Christmas market - Great wood). It's definitely the best Christmas market in Munich, of which there must be a dozen. I absolutely love the Bavaria statue, she looks really powerful and fab at sunrise and sunset when I'm peddling in and out of work, so I'm sure there will be more posts of her soon.
