Rory heads to Manchester

It's been really great to have Rory back this week. It's been quite peaceful with him gone, and at new year it felt very productive to be alone. Then he flew directly from a family holiday in Spain to Munich, and the mess and chaos returned. But I was pretty saddened to see him leave today, the calm has returned but it feels a bit emptier. 

The snow has already melted to sludge and although I went outside it wasn't for long. I've done the tidying and washing and boiled up a hearty soup from the supermarket waste (stock, celery, carrots, potatoes, ginger and a healthy looking baby food jar). Ready for next week!
