One year on

3years 90 days

.... and Katie is still merrily towing Monkey along with their sledge.

She woke up early this morning, and was quite insistent that Mummy get up with her too. So we were at it and sorted early. Which meant that the second daylight had started to break, we were out in the snow making tracks where none had been before. She was the first one of our street out in it.

We played for a couple of hours before wrapping up and going out for snowy adventures. We trekked in the snow towards the reputed best sledging (sledding for our american buddies!) hills in the town. It took nearly an hour, trudging in the snow, Mummy pulling her in her sledge. She was really excited. She fell asleep as we got to the street towards the hills.

She did wake though. She wasnt sure at first but I took her on a gentle slope - where we videoed her to send to my godchildren in Australia. This morning they had sent us a video of their pretend sledge they had made to be like Katie. She liked that a lot, and then did bigger and slightly steeper slopes. Laughing a lot. We lasted about 40 minutes, not too bad for a first proper effort at hill sledging!

We walked into town, and she fell back to sleep again in the sledge, cuddling Monkey. We went for a babyccino - she had her first large one today (small adult sized!) and drained the lot. A potter in a few shops, including some fabulous new snow boots for Mummy, and we headed back home with just enough time to warm up, dry off and get her ready for her swimming lesson shortly.

EDIT: After 5 lessons going straight to the 3rd swimming level, Katie's just got her first swimming certificate and been moved up to the 4th class. Proud Mummy Moment!
