Alien landscapes

Not to far from Rotarua to Lake Taupo but we stopped along the way at Wai O Tapu. First at the place under the bridge where two streams meet. One cold water and the other heated geothermally. We got our costumes on and went for a soak. Then to the geothermal park which was phenomenal. Here is what they call champagne pool. When we finally got round the other side we discovered why. It’s full of CO2 bubbles breaking the surface. I wouldn’t fancy drinking it!
Shame I don’t do extras ;-).
Now away to explore Taupo.
