Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2020 Tuesday — Paint and Pups

We spent the afternoon in our “new” patio room painting the queen-sized bed frame that we purchased on Facebook Market Place back in autumn. Flooring will be installed in little over a week, so painting the bed is a priority while the floor is bare cement.

It’s a huge bed frame and this is our first attempt at painting furniture since back in the 1970s. We must be out of our minds. I do have to record here that today it was Mr. Fun who lead the charge to get the second coat of chalk paint on the footboard. I keep telling him we need to spray paint this monster, but he is sure that with each coat of paint it will look better and I have to admit that the second coat looks considerably better than it did with just one coat.

The pups always want to be were we are, so I brought beds and a small cushy rug for them to snuggle into and watch us as we ever so slowly transform this piece of furniture.

This is my first retirement “project,” so I keep telling myself I have all the time in the world to get this done; (of course that’s not true because of the soon arrival of the flooring). What a chore!

The pups — we looked up from our painting at one point to realize the two girl pups (Mitzi/tan and Chloe/white) had found their way into the beds, but Max, who is totally blind, didn’t quite get the configuration of the soft little rug — and we both busted out laughing. Because of his blindness Max does not tend to get into or upon beds or furniture. He is very unsure at times of his whereabouts. These three pups really do add lots of joy to our lives, (and yes, they are a considerable amount of work).

Well, that’s our Tuesday— paint and pups!

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. The bed we are painting can be seen on my December 13th blip post.
