2020 Monday — Architecture
We drove to Orange County today to look at fireplace screens and to talk to some folks who know how to make a fireplace efficient.
Then we decided to stay in that general area and “play.” So we just started driving. After wandering for a while we found ourselves in the city of Garden Grove and at the facility that Dr. Schuller made famous— the Crystal Cathedral. Dr. & Mrs. Schuller are buried there in the Memorial Garden and so are a lot of other people. The cemetery is currently being expanded. The entire facility is quite a place. It now belongs to the Catholic Church and has been named Christ’s Cathedral and is the headquarters of the Archdiocese of Orange County.
Then we drove past the world famous Disneyland and its resort and after we crossed under the 91 Freeway we were in the city of Fullerton, so we stopped for dinner at the Spaghetti Factory; a restaurant with good food.
