Mount Taranaki.

The volcano dominates the landscape and the national park here. It’s a bit like being overlooked by a mini Mount Fuji.
Today we drove part way up it to see the Dawson Falls. I gave in and only went as far as the lookout. 100 or so narrow and uneven steps down, mostly without a handrail, was enough for me though Mr EAnn continued to to the bottom while I waited for him.
Then to the nearby Hollard Gardens. Lovely but they had NO CAFE!!! So we didn’t stay long and I got the promised pie instead.
Then to the beach but I was tired by then and just had a snooze in the car.
We will head into town tonight and tomorrow is our last full day on North Island.
