Josefsplatz In The Snow

Day 1 of the unplanned weekend in Vienna! My co-strandee Marco and I wandered into the city to check out the shops, grab a bit of lunch, see the sights etc. Despite having been working in Vienna for about 6 weeks on and off, it's the first time I've seen it properly in daylight!

This square here is called Josefsplatz after the chap on the horse: Josef II, Holy Roman Emperor. Dude looks good covered in snow. I particularly like the fact that there are a bunch of statues on the roof seemingly trying frantically to stop a giant golden ball landing on his head (??)

FILM FACT: Josefsplatz was a key location in 'The Third Man' (1949).
