Sunbird

Not such a good day weather-wise today - cloudy, windy and there was even a little rain. We went down to Old Nick's Village, which is a collection of shops, workshops, studios and a wonderful café, all built imaginatively within gardens and around a 19th Century Cape trading store.

We were after coffee, but it was obviously the place to be on Sunday morning for family breakfast. There is a store called Je Ne Sais Quoi which has a glorious collection of lovely items made by crafts people in South Africa. Purchases were made. The blip is a photo taken outside the store, where someone had provided some kind of syrup for the nectar loving Sunbirds. They are beautiful birds but, as I only had my phone at this point so couldn't get a zoomed in photo, I have left the full picture with greenery and lantern which anyway gives an idea of the kind of place this is.

In Plettenberg Bay beaches were empty, so unusual. At Enrico's, the restaurant that is almost on the beach at Keurboomstrand, the queue (they don't take bookings) which is usually for tables outside overlooking the sea, was today for a table inside. But the food was as delicious as usual anyway - grilled Sole/ Seafood linguine.
