Office Day

I was catching up on admin today. Mrs SJR and friend J are off to Budapest this weekend so I had to do the morning dog walk.

My technical issue from yesterday continued to perplex me, very difficult to explain here but one of the GPS receivers (the base), though performing perfectly during the day providing  radio corrections to its mobile counterparts (the rovers) was yet reluctant to give up its own stored data. Effectively a record of SV data as they cross the sky which can be retrospectively reconciled against the OS active stations (think GPS based trig points).
I had the base running all day in the garden and believe I have it sorted. It would appear the way I have shut it down-for about the last 14 years- can corrupt the stored file. If I shut it down with a bluetooth enabled hand held computer, it does so leaving the raw file inside intact. The device has only one hardware button, the on off switch, but you can now only use it for switching it on. I feel a couple of electrons have collided inside and changed some firmware.
I am very very relieved that it is working again.
