On the walk to, and back from, Lochan na h-Earba I have often looked at this bit of the horizon with interest. From the trackside it appears like a cluster of glacial erratics with that, nature defying, classic stark looking old tree growing out of the top of one.
What looked a couple of hundred metres off the road is probably more of a 15 minute tramp over rough bogland and lots of wee burns.
It is indeed a very intersting location. Caley is standing on the largest of the erratics with the afore mentioned tree beyond. The scattering of boulders is more extensive than you would first imagine and behind me there is another set which appear to be arranged in an informal circle about 15 metres in diameter. Perhaps nature has just deposited them like this but it has the look of something significant.
