Comfy car

Just a day of enjoying having a car, parked up by the side of the lake, read my book and got cosy for the night. Delighted to discover my mattress fits in the car, especially as there are, not just pesky mice, but also pesky rats at this campsite, possibly one of the tree climbing rats I have just heard about.
It’s all a bit of a mess in terms of natural and introduced species here and the efforts to undo the harm are admirable. The native Beech trees produce an abundance of food for mice every 5 years or so. Subsequently, the mice population increases as does the introduced stoat and possum population which feed on the mice. When the ready meals of mice run out they start to eat the birds eggs and, with no natural predators, this has been catastrophic for the native birds. They are hoping to eradicate the stoats and possums by 2025. Presumably the tree climbing, egg eating rats are also targeted but not sure if they are native or not, glad to be in a car though.
