A saltire on the WW2 beach defences

In this neck of the woods Scottish saltires keep popping up.

At this rate Boris will be demanding the reinstatement of the long forgotten 6th verse of the UK national anthem as sung in the 1700s:

Oh! grant that Marshal Wade
May by thy gracious aid
Victory bring;
May he sedition hush,
And like a torrent rush
Rebellious Scots to crush,
And the French King!
