Crane Survey

A variety of meetings in Manchester through the day, catching up on emails between them. The wonders of mobile working, made possible by modern technology.

I started off at Manchester Hall, and Deloitte presenting the results of their most recent Crane Survey. A very full big room full of property professionals, nearly all private sector. Always interesting, and a different perspective to my “side of the fence”.

Construction activity in the city centre of Manchester/Salford remains high. I took the blip walking between meeting venues. It’s the St Johns area, Allied London’s rebranding of the old Granada studios site. Offices (“future economy” jobs I’m told), residential,, studios, and The Factory - the huge arts complex that will be the permanent home of the Manchester International Festival. That steelwork in the blip is part of this new building.
