Guildford Cathedral

Had a day out around Guildford and started at the Cathedral. The foundation stone was laid in 1930 but work stopped in 1940 because of WW2 - started again in 1952 and was consecrated in 1960. It is simple, light and airy, inside and out. Then after lunch we went to the Winkworth Arboretum for a walk down to the lake. A beautiful sunny day for early February!
