Wild Garden - Hermitage of Braid
Boxing Day is always quiet. A bit like Sunday's used to be when the shops stayed shut.
In the afternoon I head to the Hermitage of Braid with the aim of walking around Blackford Hill. The main blip shows the view from the Doocot looking down the wild garden towards the main drag through the Hermitage.
I head towards the hill through the woods rather than the direct route to the top of the hill across a field. Extra 1 shows the wall near the doocot.
From here I head around the hill to the Observatory, then head down to the pond. Just before descending, on the north side of the Observatory, I take a shot of Carlton Hill, Extra 2.
I head around the Pond, however the light isn't kind. It is much too dull to get a shot of the wildfowl there. Then it is back to the Hermitage and home just in time for afternoon coffee.
