The dropped stitch

Kirkwall harbour

A bright, cold day and it was very pleasant walking round the town getting some work done. But my cheery mentions of 'what a nice day!' were greeted with a warning of the gales that are on the way.

The threat of a bad night of weather, plus a clash with a Burns Supper on Flotta, meant we thought it would be a small turnout for the village dancing. Rather a surprise, then, to have 17! A broad age range too, from 7 to the usual sprightly over 60s.
Bit of a challenge to find dances to suit all, but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
