Urban Chickens

How many do you see?  This flock rests on top of a real chicken coop over in the next block, although it’s really hard to get a glimpse of the actual birds behind the tall fence. 

Yesterday’s horrendous winds uprooted quite a few trees, downed some power lines and blew debris hither and yon. There were road closures, power outages and low level chaos all across the Bay Area. I didn’t stay outdoors very long—wind is not my favorite element. Luckily for us the power came back on just before we had to consider what to do with the refrigerated food.
