Colonnade
The colonnade separating the St Nicholas Kirk churchyard from Union Street was completed in 1829. Those observant and familiar with Aberdeen may notice something not quite right with this photograph. In reality the church is quite a way back from Union Street, and largely hidden by trees.
In this photo the church is still hidden by trees, and the colonnade, but a little less so. I have moved the colonnade round to Schoolhill where the church is closer to the street.
I expect I could have obtained a more perfect cut out, but I was a little lazy!
A bright sunny day, but quite cold, and at times very windy, especially when the wind was channeled down a narrow street.
