whiteout in the netherwoods

I awoke at 3.35am this morning looked out of the window and gave a little squeal of excitment seeing all the snow, enough to wake a grumpy K
i forced myself back to bed then later heard my sons alarm clock go off, the same squeal came from his room and within minutes he was with us whispering :do you think school will be shut mum'

The school decided to wait until E was half way to school before reporting it shut but he came home with his bestfriend tagging along.

By this time i decided that although im still troubled with my annoying back, i couldnt resist the lure of the deep snow. So armed with biofreeze gel and painkillers we all set off down to the netherwoods.
they didnt disasppoint, the trees looked beautiful.
Sprout was in his element and even had a swim! (mad dog)
Anyway this photo is taken at one of my favourite spots, one of those that look different every time i go down, but rarely like this, which is why i chose it. x
